Education & Training

Matt Prior first found his footing in the field of healthcare outreach after participating in an Outward Bound Leadership semester in Chile in 2005.  More than 15 years on, Prior cites the experience with sparking a commitment to health promotion — both at home in his own community and on a global scale.

In 2010, Matthew Prior graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  Aiming to heighten his expertise, Prior then went on to obtain his Masters of Public Health from Thomas Jefferson University.  Pursuing his Masters further solidified his command in the healthcare field, on an academic level.  But in many ways, Prior’s hands-on training and volunteer experiences are what bring a dynamic and diverse perspective to his work as a public health professional.

Professional Experience

Since 2021, Matthew Prior MPH has represented the HealthHIV team as Director of Communications and Content Strategy.  In this role, Prior develops creative ideas and content strategies to educate the public on HIV — and, more importantly, how to prevent the spread of the virus.
